The remote notification option informs you of incoming messages by calling you at a phone number or pager number you specify. You call your system administrator to set up or change your schedule and remote numbers.
How remote notification works:
Remote notification:
When a new message is deposited in your mailbox, the remote notification service informs you. You can then access your mailbox to play the message.
If you do not access your mailbox, or if the call is unanswered, remote notification cycles through your list of numbers until the call is answered, disabled, or the maximum number of entry attempts is reached. If the line is busy, remote notification continues to retry that number until the maximum number of retry attempts is reached.
When you answer a remote notification call, you can choose to temporarily turn off remote notification.
Schedule types:
A schedule allows you to define when and where you want to be notified of new messages. You may be able to set up separate schedules for business days and nonbusiness days.
You can also set up temporary schedules which override normal schedules. |
Phone numbers and pagers:
You specify the telephone or pager numbers where you want to be notified.
You can specify up to three phone numbers per time period.
Tell the administrator if you have a pager callback number or a paging service personal identification number (PIN).
Time periods:
You may be able to define up to three time periods per schedule. Time periods within a schedule can not overlap and must start and end within the same day. |
Turning remote notification on and off:
- After accessing your mailbox,
press on the main menu to select mailbox setup, then

Answering a call from remote notification:
- When remote notification calls you at your remote phone, press
to access your mailbox, then play your messages.
